Bishop John Kinney celebrated Mass at St. Hubert in Bluegrass on Sunday in honor of the 100th anniversary of the parish. Additional Photos Approximately 400 people turned out to celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Hubert Parish in Bluegrass on Sunday. Bishop John Kinney of the St. Cloud Diocese presided over the morning Mass, which opened the days activities. Co-celebrates at the Mass included current pastor Father Mike Kellogg and former pastors, Father Tom Becker and Father Peter Kirchner. A variety of activities followed the Mass including a catered dinner, a self-guided tour, carriage rides, live music, various lawn games, an archival exhibit of artifacts from the past, several photo displays. There was also plenty of time to visit and reminisce. Midsummer Worship Service On Sunday, July 13, during the Menahga Midsummer celebration, many area churches will join together for an ecumenical worship service on the banks of Spirit Lake (just west of the Methodist church.) The service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is sponsored by the Menahga/Sebeka Ministerial Association. This year, we are putting together a community choir to sing during the service. If you are interested in being a part of this choir, rehearsals will be Wednesday evenings, July 2 and 9, at 7:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran. Just come to rehearsals, no need to call to sign up. Anyone is welcome to join. We are also looking for a pianist to accompany the choir. If interested, please contact Pastor Steve Bruer at 564-4610. Come and celebrate with us during the Menahga Midsummer Celebration!
