Harlan Swenson
1934 – 2008

     Harlan Swenson, 74, of Staples, Minnesota, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his home.
     Harlan Hilton Swenson was born February 27, 1934, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Chris and Anna (Raddohl) Swenson. He was united in marriage to Shirley Warden in Menahga, Minnesota. He worked as a logger and doing road construction. He loved to travel and had visited all 50 states. He enjoyed gardening and loved flowers; he also enjoyed music. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Harlan’s family would like to extend a special tahnk you to the staff at Lakewood Manor for their loving care.
     Harlan is survived by his children, Jerry Swenson of Staples, Ronald Swenson of Sartell, Minnesota, Kay Pihlaja of Wabasha, Minnesota, Delores Swenson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Patricia Swenson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; his sisters, Erma Pavlacky of Staples and Evelyn Dahlvang of Oylen, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Tommy Swenson; a daughter, Cheryl Swenson; and his brothers, Vernon, Myron, Mervin, Winton, and Merton Swenson.
     Funeral services were held June 30 at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with the Reverend Steve Sveom officiating. Interment was at West Lyons Cemetery.
     Services were entrusted to Brenny Funeral Home of Staples.
