Steven Ervasti
1960 – 2008

     Steven Ray Ervasti, 47, of Frazee, Minnesota, formerly of Menahga, Minnesota, died in his home on Saturday, May 17, 2008, of cardiac arrest. Steven was born to Arthur and Delores (Johnson) Ervasti on August 7, 1960, in Park Rapids, Minnesota. Steve grew up on a farm in rural Menahga, with his siblings. He was a 1979 Menahga High School graduate. After graduation he continued to farm in Menahga until 1992 when he started in the logging industry. Steve enjoyed the outdoors especially summer time cookouts. Steve loved his family above all else and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a passion for agriculture and many other talents as well; he was constructive and went to great lengths be productive and preserve nature and the environment in the logging business. He was employed by the Walsh Logging Company of Park Rapids at the time of his death.
     Steven is survived by three daughters: Amber Ervasti and Eli Brunell of Montrose, Minnesota, and Teresa Ervasti and Nathan Hilluk­ka of Delano, Minnesota, and Nicole Ervasti and Bill Warner of Butler, Minne­sota; his mother, Delores (Johnson) Ervasti Lott and her husband Jim of Van­couver, Washington; two sisters, Karen (Curtis) Norhenberg Belle Plaine, Minnesota; Roxinne (Gichi) Savoretti of Switzerland; one brother, Arlan (Patricia) Ervasti of Bertha, Minnesota, four grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
     Funeral services were held May 26 at Wevley Funeral Chapel in Sebeka with Pastor Ray­mond Hendrick­son officiating. Recorded music included “The Old Rugged Cross,” “On Eagles Wings,” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Active pallbearers are Kenny Torma, Lindey Matson, Brian Haverinen, Bobby Haverinen, Lyle Hodgden, and Kevin Hjerm­stad. Interment was in Red Eye Cemetery.
     Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home of Sebeka.
