Eileen Hendrickx 1928 2008
 Eileen O. Hendrickx, age 79, of Butler, Minnesota died on Friday, June 6, 2008, at her home. Eileen was born on July 9, 1928, the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (Weis) Scheidecker in Perham, Minnesota. On September 7, 1948, Eileen was united in marriage to John A. Hendrickx at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Perham. John passed away on January 1, 1990. Eileen worked at St. James Hospital as a nurses aide prior to her marriage. Once married, John and Eileen lived in New York Mills, Minnesota. John worked for C.J. Klein (Standard Oil) until they began farming in 1949 near Perham. In 1953 they purchased the Hendrickx family farm from Johns father, Louis. They retired in 1988 and sold the farm to their sons: Michael, David and Patrick, which is now Hendrickx Brothers Dairy. Eileen was very involved at Holy Cross Church over the years as a catechism teacher, lifelong member of the Christian Mothers serving as the president for several terms, and she prepared the altars, changed missalettes and provided flowers for Holy Mass. She was an active member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Twins fan. Eileen enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful homemade meals, baking skills, and her large vegetable garden. She enjoyed music and dancing. In her later years Eileen became an avid bird watcher, sometimes having up to 15 different bird varieties at her feeders. Above all she loved her family. Eileen is survived by her eleven children: Mary (Richard) Dertinger of Perham; Dorothy (Raymond) Beyer of Wadena, Minnesota; Michael (Jean) Hendrickx of Butler; Donald (Patricia) Hendrickx of Perham; Yvonne (David) Meyer of Perham; Stephen (Bonnie) Hendrickx of Butler; David (Kathy) Hendrickx of Butler; Annette (Charles) Derouin of Willmar, Minnesota; Mark Hendrickx of Perham; Patrick (Kristi) Hendrickx of Butler, and Randal Hendrickx of Perham; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances of Perham; a brother, Robert (Jeanette) of Moorhead, Minnesota; and many relatives and a host of friends. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; an infant daughter and great-grand daughter, Katelyn; her sister, Lucille Ditterick, and three brothers, Frank, Roy and Chuck Scheidecker. Mass of Christian burial was held June 9 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Butler with Father Joseph Herzing and Father LeRoy Schik officiating. The pallbearers were her seven sons; Michael, Donald, Stephen, David, Mark, Patrick, and Randal. Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home in New York Mills.
